March 4, 2013 — 24 years from the date of the Eastern Airlines “Lockout” — As American citizens the “Families Of Eastern Airlines” have been denied the right to have our grievances brought forth before government committees to bring them into the light. October 28, 2014 In September of 1989 the “Employees Of Eastern Airlines” – “American People” – went to Washington D.C. to lobby our United States Senators for a bill, concerning the Eastern Airlines situation. Bill HR 1231 was to establish a “Blue Ribbon Commission”, two Republicans and two Democrats to hear our grievances, non binding to the President Of The United States. “To Have Our Voices Heard” as professional commercial airline personnel. I had the privilege to be among the 500 Eastern Employees that lobbied 93 U.S. Senators in 3 days, walking the streets of our nation’s capital, and traversing the corridors of our U.S. Senate Office Buildings. We did this in our Eastern Airlines Uniforms i.e. Ticket Agents, Flight Attendants, Dispatchers, Pilots, and Mechanics with our husbands, wives, and children in hand. Congressman Newt Gingrich wrote this letter below to President H.W. Bush to urge the President to sign this bill for our “Blue Ribbon Commission”.
October 29, 2014 This letter from the United States Secretary of Transportation, Samuel Knox Skinner, came about because of Providence generated from Prayer. In our lobbing effort to pass HR 1231 we as people would pray together on the bus parked on the streets of Washington D.C. before we started on our lobbing efforts for the day. My friend and fellow Eastern Airlines pilot, Captain Virgil Tedder, prayed on our bus asking God to guide us this day and for our efforts to be successful, for God to guide us to the people we needed to see to be effective in our effort to pass HR 1231. As I departed from the bus I went around a corner on the sidewalk and encountered a limousine driver with the door of his limo partially in my path. I stopped and asked him who he was driving for, he said, “The Secretary of Transportation Samuel Knox Skinner.” Just at that moment the door of the building opened and I was surrounded by the secretary’s entourage and face to face with Secretary Skinner. I was able to express to him our concerns for “The Families Of Eastern Airlines” and gave to him our letters and correspondence. Secretary Skinner was very attentive and wished us well. He entered his limousine and as he departed he was reading my “February 19, 1989″ Letter to President H.W. Bush.

After writing this letter on the evening of February 19, 1989, in a Milwaukee hotel room, on the next day, February 20, 1989, as a co-pilot on my Eastern Flight 644, my assignment was changed to become a dead heading crew member. That is to say, to fly in the passenger cabin. The flight was supposed to go from Atlanta to Boston but we flag stopped Washington National Airport on our way to Boston. My seat assignment on this day of February 20, 1989, was on an Eastern Airlines Boeing 757, it was seat number 35F, and I was seated next to a lady who was a “White House Post Office Secretary”. I asked the White House Post Office Secretary, this wonderful lady, after showing and telling her about my letter that I had written to President H.W. Bush, written in a Milwaukee hotel room, on my layover the evening before, would she copy the original letter, time stamp the copied letter, and mail the timed stamped copy of this letter to my home. “She did”! “What a Kind Act of American Freedom”. As you are aware this story that you are reading now, about the Families of Eastern Airlines, would not have been written over these many years without this God Given Providential Experience that happened on Eastern Airlines Flight 644 on February 20, 1989. This letter to President H.W. Bush, “Our Seagull For The Families Of Eastern Airlines” flew to the White House without a Stamp or an Envelope.
“The Families Of Eastern Airlines” understand the concept of “The Seagull”. Google Captain Eddie Rickenbacker who was lost at sea during World War II in the Pacific for twenty-four days with seven men on two, two man life rafts. On the sixth day they had their Daily Prayer Meeting, meeting as a group, pulling their life rafts together, and reading the Bible. One man had a New Testament Bible and they each read a verse. One of the men found a passage in the Gospel According to Saint Matthew, Chapter 6, Verses 31-34. These men had their Prayer Meeting twice a day and on the eight day God gave them Provision. After the afternoon Prayer Meeting Captain Eddie Rickenbacker dozed off. Something landed on this his head, on his hat, he knew it was a Seagull. The Seagull ended up in Rickenbacker’s hand, God’s Provision for food. These men had to endure another sixteen days, one man passing away. They were delivered on the twenty-fourth day. A navy rescue aircraft spotted Rickenbacker and his men and a Navy PT Boat picked them up. Captain Eddie was the President of Eastern Airlines at this time in history. He placed Bibles on Eastern Airlines Aircraft way back in the 1940’s. It was my responsibility in 1973, as a new young Second Officer on a Boeing 727, to make sure on my preflight check that the Bible was in the Emergency Equipment Overhead Bin by the Mega-Phone. This is the link I found yesterday on my Internet Browser in a news article about the recovery of a U.S. Air Force C-124 that was lost in 1952 on a Glazier in Alaska. Eastern Airlines Flight 980 is still on Mount Illimani in Bolivia after this Flight crashed on January 1, 1985. The United States National Transportation and Safety Board did not reach this crash site until about 10 months later though the location of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 was known from the time of the accident. (Note: It was the Summer time in Bolivia, in the Southern Hemisphere, and Eastern Airlines Flight 980 would have been visible). In a town hall meeting last week with Congressman Westmoreland and a personal visit to Senator Chambliss’s Atlanta U.S. Senate Office and via emails to both the above I discussed the loss of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 and the need for a full investigation and recovery of the crew and passengers from this fateful flight of whom the co-pilot was a friend of mine.

A day after she visited strikers and company officials in Virginia coal towns, Dole presided over a 90-minute session in her office with Pittston Chairman Paul Douglas and UMW President Richard L. Trumka, marking the first time the two had met since the strike began six months ago.

October 14, 1989 Labor Secretary Elizabeth Hanford Dole met with striking Pittston Co. coal miners Friday and announced that the company chairman and the union president had agreed to meet with her today. Face-to-face negotiations are the only way to settle the 6-month-old walkout, Dole said. “I feel frustration with the impasse,” she said. “We’re talking about communities being torn apart and, in some cases, families torn apart as I’ve heard talking with miners this morning”.

Question: Did Elizabeth Dole ever talk to the Employees Of Eastern Airlines? We, 500 Eastern Airlines Employees, myself included, in the fall of 1989 lobbied 93 United States Senators in 3 days and passed House Bill HR 1231. We did the remarkable in American Politics; passing a cloture vote in the United States Senate 61 to 38! HR 1231 was to establish a Presidential Emergency Board non-binding to the President (President HW Bush). The essence of HR 1231 was for 2 Republicans and 2 Democrats just to hear the Grievances of the Families of Eastern Airlines; simply said, “For Our Voices to Be Heard”. This was a very significant American Grass Roots Political event in our American Experience. During this grass roots political lobbying effort I personally met the Secretary of Transportation, Samuel Knox Skinner, on the streets of Washington D.C. I spoke to Secretary Skinner briefly about our lobbying activity and gave him information concerning House Bill HR 1231. His personal letter to me is attached to this correspondence. Secretary of Labor Elizabeth Dole never contacted Us, the Families of Eastern Airlines.
Point: “Equity In The Law” One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All. God gave the Families of Eastern Airlines His Vote 60 plus 1. We only needed 60 votes to pass HR 1231 with a cloture vote in the United States Senate. The cloture vote in the United States Senate for our bill HR 1231 was 61 to 38 and this bill was placed upon President H.W. Bush’s desk.
Fact: President HW Bush vetoed our bill HR 1231 citing as one factor that the Government should not be involved in a Labor Management Dispute i.e. No Government Intervention! What about our Families being torn apart? What about the Pittston Coal Miners’ Strike and the Super Mediator being assign to them by Labor Secretary Elizabeth Dole?

The Families Of Eastern Airlines, as American Citizens, in our God Given Blessing of being People established in God’s Providence through the Declaration Of Independence, July 4, 1776, The Constitution Of the United States Of America, March 4, 1789, and the Bill of Rights, December 15, 1991, have the right and the absolute necessity of having Eastern Airlines fully investigated by our United States Government. There is a story to tell about this July 1991 “Flag Pole” that is right in front of the church that I and my family have attended for these past twenty five years. I stood here on a July Sunday afternoon in 1991 with my Congressman Newt Gingrich who had been a member of our church and knew our minister as a personal friend. Newt had just dedicated this ‘Flag Pole” as an Eagle Scout Project. Congressman Gingrich had, during this Sunday service, given recognition for the achievement of Eagle Scout to a young man in our congregation. Somehow we both just met as church had finished and we were there alone, just the two of us and our brand new “Flag Pole” proudly flying our Stars and Strips. I had been in a Town Hall Meeting that Newt held a week or so earlier on June 27, 1991. At the end of this Town Hall Meeting Newt Gingrich asked me to write a letter five pages or less stating the grievances of the”Families Of Eastern Airlines” and he would personally give it to President H.W. Bush. I discussed this letter on this Sunday with Newt. I subsequently informed Congressman Newt Gingrich that I had completed the letter to President H.W. Bush on July 4, 1991 and that I would deliver it to his Local Congressional Office in the coming week.
November 15, 2014 — Below is the news paper article of June 27, 1991 that is the public documentation of the Town Hall meeting with Congressman Newt Gingrich in which grievances of the Families Of Eastern Airlines were expressed in the freedom of the 1st Amendment in the exercise of our rights as free people using the Freedom Of The Press. This is the basis for two of the three grievances that I expressed concerning Eastern Airlines and our right, as employees, as American Citizens, to have a safe working environment, with respect, integrity, and responsibility.
The third grievance that is of concern to the “Families of Eastern Airlines” is the asset stripping of our publicly traded corporation of which as an employee group we collectively owned 25 present of the common stock prior the sale of Eastern in January of 1986. The Bankruptcy Court Appointed Examiner, Mr. David Shapiro, completed a financial report concerning Eastern Airlines for the court in 1990. The Shapiro Report was some 150 pages. I requested my Congressman Newt Gingrich to enter this report into the Congressional Record. Congressman Gingrich asked me to condense this report to 15 pages or less because of printing cost considerations. I complied with Newt’s request condensing the Shapiro Report to fifteen type written pages which transposed to four pages in the Congressional Record. November 14, 2014 — In 1976 I was furloughed as a pilot from Eastern Airlines. During my time furloughed, from January of 1974 until July of 1978, I worked on the ground for Eastern in Detroit, Atlanta, and Miami. This gave me the opportunity to meet many of the employees of our airline and one of those individuals was Colonel Frank Borman. In the summer of 1976 I was in the Miami International Airport Terminal and Colonel Borman approached me in the concourse. I had met him before in Atlanta when he first came to Eastern Airlines as Vice President Of Flight Operations. He was now our President and Chief Executive Officer. I said hello and re-introduced myself. We had a conversation, as a furloughed pilot, I had learned things on the ground that I thought would be helpful in the daily operation of our airline. He said to me to call his office and make an appointment to see him personally. This I did and in the interim I had the idea to buy Colonel Borman a Bible. I thought it would be appropriate to have Eastern Airline’s Employees sign it in remembrance of his “Voyage Around The Moon” and following in the legacy of Captain Eddie Rickenbacker being “Lost At Sea”. The response from Colonel Borman to us as employees is below.

My former Congressman Mac Collins, whom I first met in my church when he was then a Representative in the House of Representatives in the State Of Georgia, took me to a meeting in the White House in the “Old Executive Office Building”. I was able in this meeting with Congressman Collins and President Clinton’s staff member, a member of the National Economic Council to his administration, to make known our grievances of the “Families Of Eastern Airlines”. In this meeting, I had the privilege to present to President Clinton’s staff member a copy of Peter Marshall’s book “The Light and the Glory”. “The Light and the Glory” exemplifies the history of Christ in America from Christopher Columbus to the Inauguration of President George Washington. Dear Congressman Shuster and Honorable Members of the House of Representatives Transportation Infrastructure Committee:
My Congressman, Mr. Lynn Westmoreland’s Staff Member telephoned me on the morning of Friday, February 13, 2015 and requested me to write this correspondence to you and your committee. This letter concerns Eastern Airlines Flight 980, a Boeing 727, which crashed outside La Paz, Bolivia on January 1, 1985 on Mount Illimani and its subsequent relevance to the eventual demise of Eastern Airlines as a national flag carrier of the United States. The cockpit crew members on Flight 980 were Captain Lawrence T. Campbell, First Officer, Co-Pilot Kenneth R. Rhodes, and Second Officer, Flight Engineer Mark L. Bird (Kenneth Rhodes was also a personal friend of mine and like myself, was a United States Air Force Pilot and Vietnam Veteran).
I am concerned about the lack of a timely and proper inquiry into the crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 by the United States Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Congressman Steve Israel of New York, in an email from the congressman’s staff member, to his constituent George Jehn on February 5, 2015, states “… I was on the phone with the NTSB when you called; I had not heard back from them so I was just pinging them. I’ve basically hit a dead end over there, they say they don’t have records on the crash and basically just have no answers”. Congressman Shuster there is written history concerning the crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980. How can there be no NTSB records of this fatal crash of an American Flag Carrier involving the fatalities of my fellow crew members at Eastern Airlines? Let us look at the witness of Mrs. Judith Kelly. (Google Eastern Flight 980 Judith Kelly) The expedition made by, an American Mrs. Judith Kelly in June of 1985, is brought to an interesting focus in the sequence of events of the crash of Eastern 980. Mrs. Kelly created her own expedition, “on her own”, and trekked to the crash site location herself on Mount Illimani. She did this to say her final goodbye to her husband, William. William Kelly was the then-director of the U.S. Peace Corps in Paraguay and was a fatality on Eastern 980. There were some people, reportedly, that did climb Mount Illimani and made their way to the Crash Site of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 prior to the NTSB’s Investigative Team that was finally dispatched over ten months after the Crash of this Boeing 727, an American Flag Carrier. The NTSB Investigative Team arrived at the Crash Site of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 in October of 1985. Why was the NTSB so long in responding to the crash of Eastern Airlines 980? The NTSB did not respond in a timely and proper manner to investigate and recover the Cockpit Voice Recorder and the Flight Recorder of Eastern 980. Why? The former Eastern employees, their family members, and all American citizens, have an interest in discovering why there was no timely and proper investigation into the Crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 by the United States National Transportation Safety Board.
Congressman Shuster, I am not the only person who desires to have my voice heard, under oath and on the record, in the forum of a committee of our United States Federal government. Two other people are former Eastern Airlines Captain Neal Holland, host and founder of the Eastern Airlines Radio Show, and former Eastern Airlines pilot George Jehn, author of “Final Destination: Disaster; What Really Happened to Eastern Airlines” published in November, 2014 by Changing Lives Press. There are also additional, established groups of individuals comprised of former Eastern Airlines employees who also want their voices heard. It is my desire, that you allow the matter of the Crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 and the related events of Eastern Airlines demise to be heard before your House Transportation Infrastructure Committee for redress of grievance. The book “Final Destination: Disaster; What Really Happened to Eastern Airlines, gave me my first insight into the lack of a proper and timely investigation by the (NTSB) into the Crash of Flight 980, and the effect this crash had, culminating in the handing over of Eastern Airlines and its many valuable assets to the Texas Air Corporation. In turn this lead to the personal detriment and negative impact on thousands of lives.
The Eastern employees were the largest shareholders of Eastern Airlines with ownership of approximately twenty-eight to thirty-two percent of the Eastern common stock before the sale of Eastern to the Texas Air Corporation, which took place in February of 1986. Yet, the interests of this largest single group of stockholders were ignored to the benefit of a less than fair and equitable corporate takeover. (Examiner Shapiro noted that even in Texas Air’s initial acquisition of Eastern in 1986, there was “no clear evidence that the acquisition by Texas Air was anything other than harmful to Eastern economically.” Quote: Shapiro Report Eastern Airlines Bankruptcy Court Appointed Examiner Mr. David Shapiro Pg. 80; Reference Congressional Record April 24, 1990, pages E 1176-E1179, Hon. Newt Gingrich) Congressman Shuster I strongly suggest that you read Mr. Jehn’s book as I strongly suggested this reading to my Congressman Lynn Westmoreland in a town hall meeting held at the University of Georgia’s Griffin Campus in the Student Learning Center on October 29, 2014. As the Chairman of the House Transportation Infrastructure Committee, I believe that a full investigation by your Committee will bring to light many previously unknown facts concerning the crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 and the circumstances leading to the eventual demise of Eastern Airlines. The former Eastern employees, indeed anyone who has ever boarded a United States airliner, need the open forum of your committee to uncover why this airline disaster was never properly investigated, and how the NTSB, in this case, betrayed the trust of anyone who ever boarded a United States airliner. This will also reveal why the related demise of Eastern Airlines was never properly scrutinized.

The crash site of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 was videoed by Second Officer Ray Valdes’s video climbing team on Mount Illimani, at an elevation of 19,600 feet above sea level, in March of 1985. Ray Valdes was a qualified Boeing 727 Second Officer and he flew the Eastern Airlines Flight 980 flight sequence on a regular basis. Ray Valdes is Hispanic and knew the Eastern Airlines Flight 980 South American flight attendants as personal friends and Eastern Employees. The United States Ambassador to Paraguay, Arthur Davis’s wife Marian Davis, was a passenger on board Eastern Airlines Flight 980 and United States Marine Corps Active Duty Sargent Jonathan Watson was accompanying Mrs. Marian Davis on this flight.
In July of 1985 Mrs. Judith Kelly, the wife of William Kelly the Peace Corps Director in Paraguay, a passenger who lost his life on Eastern Airlines Flight 980 climbed Mount Illimani, Bolivia at an elevation 19,600 feet above sea level. Mrs. Judith Kelly realized that there was no serious responsible effort by the proper authorities to attend to the remains of the passengers of Eastern Airlines Flight 980. She became a mountain climbing student in Alaska in the spring of 1985 preparing herself physically for this climb up the slopes of Mount Illimani, Bolivia. In July of 1985, before the Eastern Airlines Boeing 727 was covered with heavy snow, Mrs. Kelly climbed Mount Illimani on her own initiative and resources to the crash site of Eastern Airlines Flight 980. Mrs. Judith Kelly made her valiant climb up Mount Illimani to venerate her late husband William and the passengers and crew of Eastern Airlines Flight 980. Mrs. Judith Kelly carried with her a memorial of 300 pages, of letters from family and friends of William Kelly and letters from other family members of the passengers on Eastern Airlines Flight 980. Judith Kelly’s Memorial was wrapped in Green Felt with a protective outer covering of plastic. Mrs. Judith Kelly left her Memorial at the wreckage site of Eastern Airlines Flight 980, a Boeing 727, in July of 1985.
Then in July 1985 following her climb up Mount Illimani Mrs. Judith Kelly was on the NBC Today Show to tell her story about her successful climb to the crash site of Eastern Airlines Flight 980. By telling her story Mrs. Kelly raised awareness that the National Transportation Safety Board was not properly investigating the Crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980, with the loss of the lives of the 29 passengers onboard. Mrs. Judith Kelly and Second Officer Ray Valdes demonstrated that since January 1, 1985 Eastern Airlines Flight 980 was accessible on Mount Illimani, Bolivia at an elevation of 19,600 feet above sea level.

Mrs. Judith Kelly’s successful effort to reach the crash site of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 in July of 1985 resulted in the National Transportation Safety Board’s intentions that it then planned an investigation by the NTSB of the crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980. However, this National Transportation Safety Board Investigation did not officially occur until the formation of a National Transportation Safety Board Investigative Team that convened in Washington D.C. on October 1, 1985.
Mr. Gregory A Feith was the National Transportation Safety Board’s Air Safety Investigator for the Crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980. Air Safety Investigator Gregory A. Feith “On September 25, 1985, I was selected to retrieve the cockpit voice recorder and the flight data recorder from the Eastern Airlines Boeing 727 that crashed on January 1, 1985 at 19,600 foot level of Mount Illimani, located near La Paz Bolivia”. The National Transportation Safety Board Eastern Airlines Flight 980 Investigative Team first met on October 1, 1985 for a planning meeting.
On page Number 1 of the November 5, 1985 “After Action Report, Air Safety Investigator” From: Gregory A. Feith, Air Safety Investigator, in the bottom paragraph Air Safety Investigator Gregory A. Feith states: “I arrived in Washington at NTSB headquarters on Tuesday, October 1, for a planning meeting with the investigation team members, Al Arrington and Jim Baker from Boeing, Allan and Mark Gerber and Don McClure from the Airline Pilot’s Association, Barry Trotter from Eastern Airlines, John Young and Rudy Kapustin from the NTSB and Judith Kelly”. Judith Kelly was a member of the National Transportation Safety Board’s Investigative Team for the Crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 on October 1, 1985. Mrs. Judith Kelly what a valiant American in her advocacy for the passengers and crew of Eastern Airlines Flight 980. On Pages Numbers 1 and 2 Air Safety Investigator Gregory A. Feith states, “While I was in Washington I attempted to obtain a cash travel advance of $2500.00 because I was told that the Bolivian economy was too unstable to use credit cards. I was only able to receive $600.00 cash because amounts over $300.00 had to be applied for several weeks in advance. Unfortunately I only had three working days notice prior to our October 2 departure date. There should be a way of obtaining sufficient travel funds on short notice because credit cards are not always accepted”.

The wreckage of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 was found on Mount Illimani, Bolivia by www.operationthonapa.com ,one year ago in 2016, during the time frame the Memorial Day Weekend last May. Human remains were purportedly found at this crash site of this Boeing 727. During this past year my former Congressman Lynn Westmoreland and my current United States Congressman Drew Ferguson, and my United States Senators Johnny Isakson and David Perdue have been fully informed by letter of this situation of finding the wreckage of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 on Mount Illimani, Bolivia at now an elevation of 16,000 feet above sea level. The United States State Department and the United States National Transportation Safety Board are also fully informed by my personal correspondence of this situation stating the need to recover these purported human remains and for the need to fully reinvestigate the crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980.

Dan outlined nearly everything we saw on the debris field, but I wanted to quickly elaborate on one especially strange finding that we found literally everywhere we stepped. Ray Valdés, who mounted an early expedition to the crash site, reported seeing the same thing.
Pieces of snake/alligator/crocodile skins are scattered all over the mountain. In picking up a plane part for a closer look, often there would be crocodile hide on or near the part. They are in such abundance that we actually became quite sick of them as we combed the field for the black box.
After some research, it’s very likely that these hides belong to the Yacare caiman. Once one of the most common crocodilians in South America, this poor lizard was hunted right onto the endangered species list in the 70s and 80s.
This meant that under CITES regulations, trade in caiman skins was extremely tightly regulated or entirely illegal depending on country.
Flight 980 departed from Paraguay on January 1 with only 29 passengers and crew. However it’s possible that the empty seats were being paid for many times over by what was in the cargo bay. In 1985 Eastern Airlines had already been indicted for involvement in cocaine trafficking on its South American routes. Smuggling lizard hides may have been viewed as less risky.
I have spent some time trying to estimate the value a large shipment of croc skins. Estimating a price point between 40-97 USD per skin, and a weight of 0.25 kg per skin, the value of a shipment in 1980s dollars would be between $500,000-$1,000,000. Maybe significantly more depending on shipment size and whatever premium the buyer might be willing to pay.
While we don’t think this is the sole reason for the bungling of the investigation immediately following the crash (10 months before an expedition was mounted!), these illegal animal skins are part of a larger pattern of smuggling illegal goods on Eastern Airlines commercial flights. Someone in the organization was making money on these sketchy practices. If some of this money found its way to the right pockets, it would been easy to delay the appropriate investigational response until many feet of snow/ice covered the crash site.
During this past year the United States State Department and the United States National Transportation Safety Board have been fully informed, by my personal correspondence and correspondence from my United States Congressman and my United States Senators, of the situation concerning the Crash Of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 by stating the need to recover these purported human remains and for the need to fully reinvestigate the crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980.
The presumption of “Illegal Contraband” carried on Eastern Airlines Flight 980 in the form of “Reptile Skins as a Species” found in the debris field by the Ray Valdes Video Team, Operation Tho Napa, and as referenced the November 5, 1985 National Transportation Safety Board After Action Report Gregory Feith , Air Safety Investigator page 4 billet 5 “lizard skins”.

Senator David Perdue I have figured that from the description of the Operation Tho Napa’s findings of Crocodile Skins found at the wreckage site of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 on Mount Illimani, Bolivia, at the 16,000 above sea level debris field of this Boeing 727 that as a conservative estimate these Crocodile Skins could have weighted 3000 to 5000 pounds. This weight in itself would have had an adverse affect on the “Weight and Balance” of this Boeing 727 Commercial Aircraft affecting its climb performance. The weight of the illegal contraband that was loaded on Eastern Airlines Flight 980 would have a detrimental affect on the “Center of Gravity” in the “Weight and Balance” calculations of this aircraft, especially so if this was loaded in the forward cargo bin moving the “CG” forward which would have a negative affect upon the aircraft elevator’s performance to produce an optimum climb gradient. This negative aircraft climb performance would be exacerbated in a jet upset flight situation due to turbulence.
The former National Transportation Safety Board Chairman, Mr. Christopher A. Hart, sent me a complete copy of the Accident Docket of the Crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980. Senator Perdue NTSB Chairman Christopher A. Hart provided the Accident Docket of the Crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 to me, as stated by him in his letter to Congressman Lynn Westmoreland dated May 12, 2016. And also, Senator Perdue the Accident Docket of the Crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980 was provided to me because of your representative efforts in the First Amendment of Our United States Constitution to facilitate in the process of “Redress of Grievance. However, in the “Accident Docket of the Crash of Eastern Airlines Flight 980”, provided to me by the Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board Mr. Christopher A. Hart, these “Reptile Skins As A Species”, are reported as “Lizard Skins” that were found frozen to the fuselage of the Eastern Airlines Flight 980 Boeing 727. The “Lizard Skins” are referenced in the National Transportation Safety Board’s November 5, 1985 After Action Report – Mount Illimani From: Gregory A. Feith, Air Safety Investigator on Page 4 Billet 5 – Quote: “In the area adjacent to the fuselage section described in No.4, a portion of the fuselage was found that measured approximately ten feet long and five feet wide and covered by seven to eight feet of snow. A portion of this fuselage section was uncovered and several lizard skins that were being carried on the aircraft were found frozen to the metal. This section of fuselage appeared to be a portion of the lower fuselage skin possibly near a cargo door”.
Because of the presence of this most likely illegal contraband on the commercial airline flight of Eastern Airlines Flight 980, the cargo of “Reptile Skins As A Species”, on Eastern Airlines Flight 980, the loss of the 29 lives of the passengers and crew of this commercial airline flight are to be considered as a result of probable criminal homicide. This presumably criminal homicide of these 29 people must be addressed as such by the United States State Department and the United States National Transportation Safety Board, in and through diplomatic efforts and relations with the good people of the Bolivian Government. The inherent dignity of these human beings, the passengers and crew of Eastern Airlines Flight 980, must be addressed expeditiously.
