In 1970 I was a 1St Lt in the United States Air Force flying T-38’s at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas. I was in pilot training and this picture was taken just before my graduation.

I was 11 years old, in 1956, when my mother took me to the Cleveland, Ohio Lakefront Airport and gave me my first flying experience. She had arranged for me to have my first flying lesson in a Cessna. I still remember this moment vividly when the trees fell below me as the pilot instructor and I lifted upward into the sky. I knew in that moment that this would be what I wanted to do as my profession.

In 1965 I qualified for my Private Pilot License and continued my aviation adventure and career for the next 40 years flying all over the world. “I’ve been here and I’ve been there, I’ve been most every where, I’ve got a lotta stories I’d love ta share”, this a line from my song “Standing On This Highway”, now playing at an www.InboxNearYou.com under the “Music Tab” or just stay on this website www.BobFuhrman.com and select the “Music Tab” here and select “Standing On This Highway”.
